Vicarious waitlist and Shroozy newsletter

SHROOZY LTD is responsible for the personal information collected through these signup forms. For questions or to exercise your data protection rights, email [email protected].

We collect your email address, preferred platform, the page you signed up from, your subscription choices, the wording you agreed to and the times you requested and confirmed your signup. We use these details with your consent to send Vicarious playtest invitations, development updates and launch news. If you separately choose the Shroozy newsletter, we also send news about our games, projects and studio.

Joining the waitlist does not create an account, guarantee a playtest place or subscribe you to the general newsletter. You must confirm your email before we add you to the confirmed subscriber list.

Providers and security

Vercel hosts the website and form endpoints. Cloudflare processes signups and stores pending requests and consent records in our existing database. Resend delivers confirmation emails and manages confirmed contacts and email preferences. These providers process information for us. Their services may involve processing outside the UK; their contractual data protection safeguards apply where required. We do not sell your signup details.

To prevent abuse, we briefly store a hash derived from the request's IP address and limit signup attempts. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours. We store a hash of each confirmation token, and opening a link alone does not subscribe you. Email open and click tracking are disabled for these confirmation emails.

Retention and your choices

Unconfirmed requests are deleted after seven days. We retain confirmed subscription and consent records while needed to provide your requested updates and demonstrate your choices. After an unsubscribe, we keep only the information needed to respect your opt-out, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations, and review whether it remains necessary.

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe or preference link. You can stop Vicarious updates or the Shroozy newsletter separately, or unsubscribe from all marketing. You can also withdraw consent by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

You can ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict processing, receive a portable copy where applicable, or object where applicable. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
